Mette Mitchell, Homeopath, Bsc (hons), LCHE
Mette is one of the owners of Welling Centre. She is an experienced homeopath from Denmark, where she is a Registered Alternative Health Practitioner. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in homeopathy from Middlesex University in the UK in 2015 and became a licensed homeopath through the Centre for Homeopathic Education (CHE) in London.
She is a trained classical homeopath but has also enjoyed an education that provided a thorough training in other methods of homeopathy, in particular, the Eizayaga layers method, acute prescribing, and organ support/detoxification. She chooses the method that is most suited to each individual case.
Mette has a special interest in getting homeopathy out to families as a supplement to allopathic (mainstream) medicine. She facilitates many courses on how and when to use homeopathy at home. Her courses include a 2-hour introductory course on how to get started with a homeopathic kit at home, a thorough 8-module course on the same topic, a course about using homeopathy together with vaccinations, one on the use of homeopathy for those that choose not to vaccinate, a course on homeopathy for child birth, and more.
She also educates other health practitioners on the use of homeopathy. She trains practitioners on the use of Narayani remedies, an Indian system of homeopathic mixed remedies, and trains doulas and midwives on the use of homeopathy in pregnancy and childbirth. Mette was also a key player in the establishment of CHE as an online program and she works with recruiting and supporting students at CHE to this day.
Mette has had a strong interest in alternative medicine dating back to the late 1990’s, where she spent time in Italy together with friends who worked in the field of cranio-sacral therapy and osteopathy. Together with this group she experienced regression therapy, channelings and hands-on treatment, and took part in a community where symbolism and out of body experiences were freely discussed. It was also at this time that she was first introduced to homeopathy.
It wasn’t until Mette’s daughter got seriously ill, however, that her interest in vaccination and homeopathy became focused. Her daughter suffered through meningitis two times in four months in 2007. After many weeks of hospitalization and heavy medication, Mette felt a deep need to get her child detoxed from the medication already given and a calling to find alternatives to the future medication, when appropriate.
She took advice to get her daughter detoxed by a homeopath and started treatment for her. Soon after, her homeopath handed her an invitation to a 2-hour course introducing homeopathy and how to use homeopathy at home. This was a course very similar to the introductory courses Mette, herself, facilitates today. It was Mette’s direct experience with the kit that finally prompted her to register to do the four years of training with the CHE.
Mette moved to Canada from Denmark in 2018 to open Welling Centre together with her partner, psychologist, Brian Welling.
